  Cecily Legler Strong was born on the 8th of February, 1984. She is an American actor and comedian. Strong is best known for being an Saturday Night Live cast member between 2012 between 2012 and 2022. Strong has the longest tenure of a female character in the show's history. Strong was performing Improv at The Second City, Chicago in the year she completed her studies at CalArts. She was later hired by SNL. Her current position is a performer on the Apple TV+ musical comedy show Schmigadoon! (2021-present) and also co-produces.



 



 She also voiced The Awesomes (2013 to 2015) In addition, she has supporting roles in movies like Ghostbusters and The Meddler. In 2015, she hosted White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first book, a memoir called This will all be Over Soon, was published in 2021.

 Childhood and early life



 Strong was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who worked as an Associated Press bureau chief and until 2013 was running his own public relations firm. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experience as a nurse practitioner as well as working at several local hospitals. Strong's parents divorced. Strong was attracted by SNL since she was a child. She loved reenacting sketches with a friend as well as watching the old SNL commercials via VHS. "I have a tape of the best commercials that i utilized every day. She has said that she was influenced by Phil Hartman.
